We’re delighted to celebrate another successful year filled with new publications, prestigious fellowships, and academic milestones for our PhD students. Our team also made progress with patents pending and successfully completed the ENLACE and GEAR outreach programs. We extend our gratitude to everyone for making 2024 so memorable and look forward to continuing our success in the coming year!

Congratulations to Ali for passing his Advancement to Candidacy exam. He is now officially a PhD candidate!

With new publications in ACS Nano and Advanced Functional Materials  and several more manuscripts under revision, our lab wrapped up a successful year with a team hike to Three Sisters Falls. It was a refreshing day to connect, celebrate, and enjoy the great outdoors together.

Our lab is excited to have participated in the GEAR research apprenticeship program for the first time this year. Hillary and Ryan, two second-year undergraduate students, joined our lab for a year-long research experience focused on characterizing nanoelectrode arrays for electrophysiological applications. Mentored by Dhivya and Iswerya, they gained valuable hands-on experience with cutting-edge research techniques. We are proud to support the development of future scientists through programs like GEAR.

We are thrilled to share that Ali Sarikhani from our lab has been awarded the 2025 Siebel Scholarship at UC San Diego! The Siebel Scholars program provides a $35,000 scholarship to top graduate students who demonstrate exemplary academic excellence and leadership. Congratulations on this prestigious achievement, Ali!
